Tested, solid and with an extra touch of old-school style, Hickory is a ranch horse with that next-level of class to him. I immediately picked this guy out as the perfect blend of “cow horse meets ranch horse” and he has shown himself to be all that. He keeps a level head and gets his job done without complaint or drama. Ride out alone or with a group, every day or intermittently, he’s cool with whatever. He tracks a cow like a pro, and really comes around on one in the alley! He’s been roped off of a bunch and will be in the branding pen this spring. I also used him to snub a stubborn colt where he was unfazed by the baby’s tantrums and handled the whole thing like a professional. He’s accustomed to our dogs running under him, and is especially kind and considerate of our young toddlers when they lead him in and out of the barn or race their bikes past him. Hickory is a smooth mover, especially at the trot- comfortable enough for my wife to ride through much of her pregnancy. He is one-handed soft and responsive and can ride up to whatever you need of him, but he’s also able to ride down to less experienced riders and give them what they need too. This is a versatile individual that we have really enjoyed riding! Ridden by Steven and Hannah Gutenberger. For more information, [email protected] or 307-298-5030.
