Mare
Split is a 13-year-old mare who has proven herself to be a dependable partner for our entire family. Whether it’s doctoring cattle in the pasture, packing my wife and 10-year-old daughter safely through rough mountain terrain, or helping my 6-year-old son gather cows, Split handles every job with class and style. She is kind, willing, and ready for whatever the day holds. We have used Split to gather large pastures of cattle and sheep, sort and ship, and rope and doctor cattle in the pasture. Gentle enough for the kids to use but capable enough fora full day of work on the ranch. Split is steady in all kinds of country and it has been a true joy to have in our family this past year.
A note from 10 year old Tennlee: “My favorite thing about Split is that she is kind and willing to do whatever I need her to do. One time last fall I was moving cows with my dad when he needed to go help my little brother. So Split and I trailed about 50 cows half of a mile by ourselves, until my Dad and brother met us with their cows. This year Mr. Ken let me name the horse I was going to ride. You may have noticed the cute split in her ear which made me call her Split…and it is safe to say that she “splits” her time between my dad and me. I have really enjoyed riding Split this year.” Ridden by Justin and Tennlee Hatfield. FMI Ken McNabb at 307-254-7260 | [email protected]
