Chisum

Chisum is a good-looking bay roan gelding that is ready to be somebody’s right hand ranch hand or big-country trail horse! He has been my go-to guy for everything from doctoring bulls on the summer mountain pasture to ponying beginner kids on guest trail rides. He is gentle, super smart, soft and responsive with a level head and good work ethic. Chisum is capable of anything yet not hot or arrogant, and he scales to what you need. He has a comfortable, ground-covering walk and can long trot for extended amounts of time without quitting you. He is very honest with time off and does not need a full-time job to stay broke. We have laid him off for over a month and gotten right back on him without issue. Chisum is my favorite to ride for running saddlehorses off pasture because he keeps his wits about him and doesn’t get bothered by 45 head of horses loping ahead of him. He is confident riding out alone, comfortable with a rope, good around cattle, and easy to own. This is a great all-around gelding!  Ridden by Rebekah Peterson.
