Louis L’Amour is my “go to” horse for any job I have to do on the ranch and is my favorite heading horse when team roping. He is big and stout but goes to cattle really hard. For a big horse he has plenty of speed for jackpot ropings. Last fall we were gathering cattle on our Sage Creek Ranch and three times in one day he pulled me through potentially dangerous situations because of his very calm nature. I have turned this horse out for weeks and when I got back on him he was just a solid as when I turned him out.
